During 2017 and 2019, NSW professional fishing industry reforms resulted in amendments to management arrangements. As such, the NSW fishing industry was required to submit real-time data relating to catches and quota usage, through an online smartphone/device program.
Working with the NSW DPI Fisheries and NSW Professional Fisher’s Association, OceanWatch developed training materials for all fisheries transitioning to online catch and quota use reporting.
OceanWatch delivered training to industry participants in 2017 and 2019 through over 90 workshops held between Eden and Tweed Heads along the NSW coast.
